Rugrats - "Music"

Bring up the orchestra, put on your singing voice, and get ready to sing-along with the Rugrats gang in the ever popular episode, "Music."

While listening to the radio, Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, Lil and Angelica perform music videos in order to teach Dil about music. Musical numbers include "Tricycle Not for You," "Pack Up Your Troubles," "Toyland," "You Make Me Love You," and "Beautiful Dreamer."

They try so desperately to get Dil to imagine the visuals like how the other kids would. Can they get Dil to imagine the visuals, or will they just follow Angelica's advice that he's not ready to learn yet?

Just watch and find out.

What I admire about this story is that it's a musical episode, kind of like SpongeBob's Jellyfish Jam, and I like Phil and Lil's "Tricycle Not for You" musical number, it has a sort of rock and roll feel to it, and Tommy's "You Made Me Love You," has a lounge feel to it, George Burns, eat your heart out. And even Didi is pretty good at singing Dil to sleep. At the end of the episode, one can realize that Dil really loves Tommy, because he dreams of him (Tommy) as he falls asleep. I think I like the "Beautiful Dreamer" rendition as much as Garfield's Garbage Can and Tin Pan Alley Revue version that was performed by Odie.

In conclusion, even though PIEGUYRULZ has says that the Tales From the Crib movies that got a lot mixed reviews because it breaks the rule that a Rugrat should never sing. I'm afraid I have to disagree. I don't mind the characters singing that much.

And since this aired before "Jellyfish Jam" did, I can safely say this is a pre-"Jellyfish Jam" episode. By the way fans, you make me love you! Really, I do.

Proctecto 5000

This cartoon from Oh Yeah! Cartoons is just so dramatic! Believe me, I've watched it. I mean, the animation is cute I will admit, but the entire short just feels like a dang soap opera.

You see, in this cartoon, in the distant future, Nadya has a lot of trouble making friends at her new school, even goes so far as being bullied by a bully who was voiced by the late Mary Kay Bergman, even going so far as to lock her in a locker overnight, luckily, Kenny the Protecto 5000 comes in to save the day after the bullies go too far with their science experiment. The moral of the story is always make friends even when your too shy to do such a thing, and you should ways try to come out of your shell. An important fact I should point out is that Kenny is voiced by none other than Richard Moll from Night Court. I'd never thought I'd say this, but he was a perfect fit for this drama.

Unfortunately, I don't recommend this cartoon It's just so melodramatic, sad, and even mean-spirited to young little girls like Nadya. BUT, it's not that bad, I'll give it the benefit of a doubt here. And if you are a true fan of dramas and stuff like that, go ahead and check out the link here if you dare! Not that I'm demanding you to, it's just that, it's your choice.

Rugrats - "Falling Stars"

Prepare for liftoff, because it's time for me to review "Falling Stars," the best episode of Season 7 of Rugrats! The plot is is that after Grandpa Lou shows Tommy falling stars, Tommy immediately suspects this is a bad thing, and he and the other babies go on a mission to stop the stars from falling, thanks to Angelica's teasing.

If you were to ask me WHY this is my favorite episode in the entire series is because of one thing, it's a spoof on Star Wars! From Angelica as the Big Space Boss (ala Darth Vader,) and Grandpa Lou as Yoda, (Frank Oz, eat your heart out.) And not only that, but it also focuses more on Kimi and Tommy more than the other babies. It even has a parody of "Luke, I am your father." with Angelica saying "I am your cousin!" and Tommy doing a short and over the top "NO!" And they use flashlights as light sabers. Very clever David Rosenberg, writer of the episode. In the end, Angelica does get her comeuppance for her sour attitude of getting rid of the stars. Not even Johnny Bravo could pull this off.

If your into space as much as I am, I recommend this episode to the kids, grown-ups, and even astronauts. My favorite part was Kimi's line when she and Tommy were trapped, "Somebody help us, please!" Amazingly, this aired on 2001, the same year that the Fairly OddParents first aired, and also the very last year the late Christine Cavanaugh was involved with Rugrats.
