The Powerpuff Girls - "Geshundfight"

Oh, I get it. Geshundfight is a take on the famous German phrase, "gesundheit." Anyways, we're reviewing the Powerpuff Girls episode, "Geshundfight" from the first season, and which also featured the Amoeba Boys.

The Amoeba Boys are once again trying out their petty crimes. They try to steal an orange from the orange stand, but Skinny Slim, being the nervous one, doesn't do a good job at it, the kicker, he doesn't grab the orange at all. They try to show littering to the girls, but it's just pathetic because it's just a sheet of paper. Then, The Amoeba Boys decide to, as the Professor states, stand in the park next to a "Keep off the grass" sign in an attempt to break the law, when a storm rolled in, now, they stood in the rain all night and they caught a cold, that cold mixed with their single-cell anatomy to created a devastating new virus that could then infect all of Townsville. Will the Girls find the antidote within the Amoeba Boys? Or will they just end up as sick as a chihuahua? Well I'm not telling! Because you have to watch and see for yourself.

Now, it's important to note that this is the Amoeba Boys' only appearances in Season One, they only appear once per season. When I was younger and I saw this, I thought their even plan was to get rained on and get sick and infect Townsville with their virus. I really thought THAT was their evil scheme, but since I've heard every word from Professor Utonium, that wasn't the case here. I also found it funny when the Mayor gets constant phone calls telling him that the people at City Hall are sick and they can't get in, and thanks to Sara Bellum sneezing onto the Mayor, he gets infected as well, that's karma if you ask me.

Overall, this episode is really funny, and the good part is that it doesn't push the yuckiness of f this sickness too far. I mean sure, the sick ice cream did sneeze on the girls, but they don't get infected until they come across the Amoeba Boys. I also like Buttercup shouting at the top of her lungs to the Amoeba Boys to leave Townsville, until she suddenly gets sick after she regains her cool. I also like how the Professor's microscope shows us that the germ looks like the Amoeba Boys, mostly the Boss Man. Too bad the Amoeba Boys never got arrested for infecting Townsville. As Boss Man says "I TOLD YOU YOU SHOULD'VE TAKEN THE ORANGE!"

And the Narrator is right, the Amoeba Boys are SO dumb, but we love them anyway.

Dexter's Laboratory - "Sister's Got a Brand New Bag"

Uh, look guys, I don't have a lot of time, I'm kind of in the middle of something and I really can't explain, so, I'll try to do this review of "Sister's Got a Brand New Bag" real quick alike.

Dee-Dee learns a brand new dance from Groove Train, a spoof of Soul Train, and it's been well choreographed that Dee-Dee wants to show Dexter her new dance, but no matter what Dexter does, he literally cannot avoid it.

How will Dexter get out of this? Or will he give in to her sister's instincts?

Well, I'm not telling! Because you've got to watch and figure it out for yourself.

Next, the jokes and humor.

This episode is a lot of fun, and the dances are well done, I mean take a look at Big Daddy Fat, he really knows how to groove unlike all the other dancers Dee-Dee has seen before.

I also like the humor of Dexter accidentally turning his lab into an icy environment.

And I even like Dee-Dee's slow mo dancing while underwater.

Also, Dexter does like the dance, and there's no music playing in the background. That's kind of odd, isn't it?

All in all, this episode is a heck of a lot of fun. It's visually interesting, it's funny, it's musically interesting, and even Dee-Dee's dance takes up most of the episode in a good way.

The dance by the way is called the Moonwalk.

All I can say here is that Dee-Dee's got a  new way to walk, song reference intended.

Anyways, this is my last review for now. Hopefully, by the time my computer gets moved to another location in to the dining room, hopefully, I'll get a new review out by Friday. That is, if I don't go through limited time using the computer, because for some reason, my Mom and Dad don't trust me using this computer in my room anymore.

Dexter's Laboratory - "Quiet Riot"

Tired because you didn't get enough sleep last night? Well, this episode is for you, :"Quiet Riot." Look guys, I don't have a lot of time, I'm kind of in the middle of a crisis of having my review location moved so I really can't explain, so I'll try and do my review real quick alike.

Dexter had work late last night and has become very tired, so he decides to sleep in, in that case, Dee-Dee decides to try to keep things quiet in comical and over-the top fashions, whether on purpose or accidental.

And the final nail in the coffin was where Dee-Dee accidentally makes a bomb go off, and with that, Dexter tries to find somewhere else to sleep and where Dee-Dee won't bother him.

Oh well, can't say she didn't try.

Anyways, what do I think of this episode? I thought it was realty funny. Like for example, Dee-Dee yelling out to her mom that Dexter hasn't gotten enough sleep last night even though she promised to keep things quiet for Dexter.

I also like how Dee-Dee swats a fly onto Dexter's face, and even squishing onto a Puppet Pal Clem puppet, which for some reason is a squeaky toy.

Another thing, I thought this episode has a clever plot. It's very interesting in my opinion.

I wish there was more that I can say, but I can't go for anymore thoughts, mostly due to the fact that my computer location is being moved to the kitchen and there's not much to talk about.

Believe me, talking about moving my location is making me sick to my stomach.

But either way, just watch this episode if you run across it. See you later, hopefully if I don't plan a schedule for making my reviews during the weekends or using the computer period.

The Powerpuff Girls - "Tough Love"

If you've watched Shadow Streak's review of "Somewhere Over the Swingset," you will note that he told us that that episode is a complete rip-off of the original series episode that I'm going review right now, "Tough Love," and to be honest, I can't argue with him on that one. This reboot has a tendency to do blatant stealing from the original! Here's the link to his review:

Let's just hope that reboot gets cancelled very, very soon. Now, with that out of the way, onto the review.

Him sees Townsville loving the Powerpuff Girls to death, Him gets jealous and he really hates the Powerpuff Girls so much And with the help of his rubber duckie, Mr. Quackers, he decides to turn the people of Townsville against the girls.

How will the Girls stop Him?

You know, out of context, this screencap looks pretty bad, not gonna lie.

This is one of those episodes that aired during the 10th Anniversary marathon, pairing with the Season 2 episode, "Speed Demon," which I will review sometime later. And this episode, much like "Octi Evil," has Him with an evil fiendish plan And for the most part, it works.

I even like the background music that plays when Him appears, it's perhaps the most scary that composers James L. Venable, Thomas Chase and Steve Rucker had ever composed.

And Him as usual is defeated, but he will always return for another showdown.

So, bottom line, it's cool, it's funny, it's dark, like Him, and it has a good moral that Buttercup pulled in here, that you shouldn't trust people who aren't your loved ones because our loved ones would never want to hurt us and they're all a part of HIS evil scheme, okay, good moral.

I even found it strange that even the narrator has sucked in the hate smoke or something.

But on the other hand, I like the ending where he says "Oh, nurse, isn't it time for my sponge bath?"

By the way, I don't like sponge baths. I'm onto the next one, bye.

Dexter's Laboratory - "Don't Be a Baby"

Now, I'm not much of a baby person, but I know there's an episode out there that my Mom likes, like this one "Don't Be a Baby," which was paired with Peltra and GIRL Squad. Let's see if I can agree on some of her opinions.

After asking nicely to their parents to see if whether or not they can go see an R rated movie, and getting a "no," which I won't blame their Mom and Dad because R rated movies are unacceptable for kids, Dexter and Dee-Dee create an aging device that could make them 18 or older to see the movie, you know, because it worked better the first time in "Old Man Dexter." But it backfires when Dee-Dee accidentally switches the cords and she and Dexter mix up their parents age and turn them into babies, what a twist! While Dexter works on an antidote, Dee-Dee has to take care of the babies by herself. How will this end? Watch and see, okay?

I can see why my mom, Victoria gave this episode a full five-wow rating. It got everything right. The comedy is spot-on, I like how Dexter's dad adds emphasis on the word "violence," and I kind of like how Dee-Dee stands up to Dexter for once, blaming him for the mistake, even though, SHE was the one who mixed up the cords, but that's besides the point, and I also like how Dee-Dee takes care of the babies like a motherly figure, which was a nice change of pace from her usual energetic and ditsy personality. You have to see it to understand, the only thing I didn't like was that Dexter just bonks Dee-Dee on the head for losing the babies, come on, man, she fell asleep! It was an accident!

So, bottom line, it shows us the idea of taking care of babies properly and it has a nice moral, don't go for something you're not ready for.

Did I mention that I think Dee-Dee's voice actress, Kat Cressida might've wrote this episode or something?

By the way, the only R rated movie I have is actually The Blues Brothers movie, but the only reason I go to that one is for the musical numbers. That's why.

If you're 18 or older, then go watch The Blues Brothers movie, or if you are younger than 18, go watch this episode and see what I mean.

The Powerpuff Girls "Lying Around the House"

Three Cartoon Network shows I've reviewed in a row. That's strange, but a good thing. Now, I'm reviewing my only favorite episode of The Powerpuff Girls, Season 5, "Lying Around the House." But first, I want to give a shout out to Shadow Streak who said that "The Secret Swapper of Doom" was a ripoff of this sort of thing, if you don't believe me, here's the link to his review.

In this episode, Professor, Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup completely tell lie after lie during their day off on Saturday. First there's one the Professor does where he says he has a lot of work to do, but the truth is he has an important game show to watch. And the Girls hate liver and onions, so they give it to the town's dogs. The following has Bubbles lying about drawing on the walls, Buttercup playing by herself with a dodge ball and lies about breaking the Professor's major brain award, or nerd award as Buttercup calls it, and Blossom lies about overflowing the laundry, this causes the little white lie to turn into a comical monster and wreak havoc on the house. What can they do? Watch and find the honest truth to this episode.

Before I knew about Lollygaggin;' existing before this, I thought this episode was the only instance of them spoofing Larry-Boy! And the Fib from Outer Space! It's obvious the people at Cartoon Network had a tape of the aforementioned tape. The major difference is that unlike the Fib who acts so evil is that the White Lie acts more comical and makes up lies by himself. I guess Chris Savino, the writer of this episode came up with that idea by himself. I also like how The Professor is watching a game show, what is he? Bob Pataki, because he likes Wheel of Fortune. Also, much like Lollygaggin', the Lie here is also voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson. Hmm, I'm going to go ahead and blame cartoon logic on this.

So bottom line, I don't think this is blatant copying compared to the Secret Swapper of Doom, both these shows have watched Larry-Boy! And the Fib from Outer Space! And whenever they do, they have to take notes to come up with another episode. I like the joke about the pants being on fire and hanging from a telephone wire, literal humor, folks. And also, I like the jokes on Buttercup and Professor accidentally leaving the toilet seat up, which usually causes the girls to go "What?"

Anyways, the moral is about trust.

Trust, trust, it's all about trust, break it and you'll spontaneously com bust!

Dexter's Laboratory - "GIRL Squad."

Once upon a time, there were three little girls who went to school, and they each were assigned very hazardous duties, but I took them away from all that, my name is Veston. That's right, we're reviewing my favorite episode of Dexter's Laboratory, and perhaps my personal favorite in the entire series, "GIRL Squad!"

After learning some lessons about neighborhood criminals from McBark the Crime Hound, a parody of McGruff the Crime Dog, Dee-Dee, and her friends, Mee-Mee and Lee-Lee, decide to form their own neighborhood criminal spy team! Simply known, as Johnny Bravo puts it, G - Glamorous, I - Investigators, R- Ready to, L, Lick Crime, GIRL Squad! Following a brief lesson from Dexter on "licking" crime, Dee-Dee and her friends come across a criminal in silhouette lurking around the neighborhood. Who are you gonna call? The GIRL Squad!

Will these girls stop this mad man? Stay tuned to find out!

Now, this episode is a clever set-up to Charlie's Angels and it sets up who the girls would be, Dee-Dee for example would be Farrah Fawcett, Mee-Mee would be Kate Jackson, and Lee-Lee would be Cheryl Ladd, and if you want to technically add Dexter into the mix, he would have to be David Doyle. Except, Dexter's appearance was quite brief and temporary, so I consider it its own separate category, it's fine if you do though. Even their chances to catch the crook are so silly it's hilarious! Like tying shoes to the truck and tail the bad, and apparently, Coca-Cola is a thing in this universe. That's interesting.

So, overall, aside from the fact that the crook was actually just the gardener, sorry, but I had to spoil the twist ending, the episode gets pretty much everything right. It's got a decent parody, a decent plot, and a weird twist, so overall, in between those scenes and the interesting character of McBark the Crime Hound, this episode is definitely a good one.

Also, as for the GIRL Squad, this crimes been licked.

The Powerpuff Girls - "Power-Noia"

Let's take a look at some of the later season 4 episodes of the Powerpuff Girls, this one is called "Power-Noia." But first, I would like to give a shout out to Phoenix Pen and PIEGUYRULZ for reviewing this episode during a listing of episodes from Seasons 4 through 6.

Now, with that said, let's take a look at this episode which was the last one that was directed by Craig McCracken.

After a typical fight with a giant monster, as the Girls prepare for a good night sleep, Buttercup argues to Bubbles about her yelp when the monster laser zapped the three girls. In the process, Buttercup sees something on her pajamas, which kind of looks like a spider, but brushes the smudge of her dress. Anyways, after that stunt, The Professor tucks them in and tells them to prepare for the big test tomorrow which Blossom unfortunately was unprepared for. Once the Professor leaves, the nightmare starts when Him places nightmares on all three of the girls, mainly on what we fear.

Blossom's nightmare is all about failing her final exam and thinking it could be the end of her life, I've had that experience before. But you should know that it's not the end of the world if you get a C, a B, or even an F, but grades are important. Miss Keane was pretty creepy. By the way, tell Olga that about getting a B+ is not the end of the world, okay? And Bubbles nightmares are kind of Tim Burton like with the toys attacking her and Bubbles almost being suffocated by a snack, and Buttercup's nightmares, the best part, are all spider related and the CGI backgrounds kind of look like Pablo Picasso paintings or something. If I didn't know better, I'd say Buttercup just fell into the fly of despair.

This episode is pretty unique for it's dark tones, and even Him's fiendish plan to make the girls too scared to fight back. In my opinion, Him's evil schemes were the best part of the original series. Ranging from turning the people of Townsville against the girls in "Tough Love" to taking over the world in "Speed Demon." I felt bad for the girls in this episode, all those terrible nightmares they have, even going so far as to not wake-up themselves. I wonder if that's how Princess Snorebucks came to be, and I wonder if that's where the Justice League episode, "Only a Dream," got this from. If that's the case, then I won't say it's stealing.

I thought it was a straight-forward episode, I thought it was good. But PIEGUYRULZ didn't think it needed to be 22 minutes in he and Phoenix Pen's review of these episode. But in my opinion, it needed to be 22 minutes so we can explore more of the Girls going through their bad dreams and how they came to be.

I also like Him's evil spider-like form! But in the end, the Girls manage to defeat him, somehow. And it ends with The Professor in their bedroom because he had a nightmare. Ironic, isn't it?

If you still wish the reboot was canceled, go watch this episode, please?

Dexter's Laboratory - "Rude Removal"

In 1998, there was word that there was an episode of Dexter's Lab that had Dexter and Dee-Dee create evil versions of themselves, the kicker, this episode had a lot of Bob Saget levels! For years, the reason for it's creation has been sketchy. Some say it was made as a joke and never intended to air, others said it was meant to air and Cartoon Network banned it for its harshness, however, the main rumor is that it was made only for select people to see, as it have been may have been shown at Genndy Tartakovsky's home for cocktail parties and whatnot. But that's just a hypothesis. For years, we were all curious about the episode and hope we would find some answers soon, and we did in 2013, thanks to Adult Swim. They once uploaded on YouTube on their channel to widespread appeal, but then they switched it to private, forcing fans to find other sources to be the only way to see it. But after all the wait, was it worth it? Let's find out.

So, we see the basic norm of the show, Dexter working on his latest creation and Dee-Dee coming in to wreck it all. Dexter tells Dee-Dee that he invented the Rude Removal System, a device made to take the rudeness out of one person, during the discussion they argue over who's the rude one, which quickly results in a sibling fight which causes them to accidentally work the Rude Removal System. On the upside, it works! On the downside, the rudeness has to go somewhere. At least all the curse words are censored in this one, I assume Adult Swim censored it themselves So anyways, Dexter and Dee-Dee have to deal with evil clones of themselves who shout their mouths off faster than the comedy sty-lings of Andrew Dice Clay.

Before these guys could mess up the now nicer duo, they hear their mother call them up for lunch, and that was where things get interesting. You just have to watch and see how it turns out for yourself. Anyway, before the now nicer duo can clean-up their mess, they hear their rude duplicates messing around in their laboratory But the weirdest part of this episode is Dexter and Dee-Dee having British mannerisms, that's just weird! Anyways, they go down to the lab to stop them once and for all in something I would like to call, "reverse psychology." Bugs Bunny-isms, works every time. Well, all's well that ends well.

Well, it's great to see something like this existed, Rude Removal feels like a typical episode. I can understand the reason for the ban, but if Rugrats, SpongeBob, The Powerpuff Girls, and Arthur can get away with teaching the moral of swearing, I can see this is getting by.


Well, except for the title card, but there's a nice nostalgic vibe that makes it worth seeing.

Just don't be that hyped.

Besides, if they had change the title card and made it a bit more kid friendly, then it would've been a cartoon to put on the show itself. Maybe it could've replaced the banned Dial M for Monkey cartoon "Barbequor," which actually HAD an excuse for removing it.

I rest my case.

Dexter's Laboratory - "911"

Huh, I really don't have much to say about this episode. Except, it's a pretty cute episode. All right, all right, I'll give you the basic premise, my opinions, and my final thoughts. afterwards, this will be my last review until this Thursday night. So,, let's uh, let's begin.

While watching an episode of Action Hank, Dexter gets interrupted by the Emergency Broadcast System. This results into Dexter solving emergency after emergency, but the signal doesn't stop going off. By the end of the episode, it was revealed that it was just a test, and if it was an ACTUAL emergency, the signal you would have heard would've been followed by information. The test took so long, it skipped over to the end of the Action Hank episode. Poor Dexter, okay, enough with that. Let's talk about my opinions.

What I do like about this episode is that it's cute, very cute. I especially like Dee-Dee's appearance here, She has quite an overactive imagination. For example, laughing for no reason at the TV as if it were a comedy, Dee-Dee becoming scared as if she was watching a horror movie, and even getting up to the point to where Dee-Dee is offended by someone named Jeffrey doing something to Marsha. Even Dexter thinks this is just crazy. Heck, she even thinks the ending of the test of the Emergency Broadcast System was a sad ending. She's not stupid, she's just energetic and quite ditsy, for Dexter's taste at least.

Okay, let's wrap things up with my final thoughts. Even though the beeping on the Emergency Broadcast System got annoying at times, I must say, it is pretty much a good episode. The comedy is cute, especially Dexter mistaking boy babies for girls, as well as Dee-Dee's overactive imagination. It's pretty much just a cute, cute episode.

The Powerpuff Girls - "Uh Oh Dynamo"

Now, tonight, I'm going to review one of my other favorite episodes of The Powerpuff Girls, which coincidentally, is the last episode of the first season, "Uh Oh Dynamo," One day, when I was streaming with Shadow Streak, I asked him if he liked this episode and he said he did, it's one of his favorite season one episodes too. Go check out his reviews of the PPG reboot if you haven't already, if you like my stuff, you're gonna love his. Now, onto the review.

The plot of this 22 minute episode is that after an encounter with a fish balloon, desperate to protect the girls, Professor Utonium creates the Dynamic Nano-Techronic Monobot, or DYNAMO for short. While the girls are unsure on whether or not they want to use it, one Saturday in Bonsai Garden's Park, during an evening paper boat race, the Fish Balloon comes back, but only with a much bigger companion who's too big to even beat up. How will the girls stop him? Well, I'm not telling! You just have to watch and see for yourself. Because I'm going to say what I like about this episode now.

The episode as a lot of cool action scenes, especially with the big battle with that seven-eyed fish balloon. Of course, this show had a lot of violence and comedy, as the Powerpuff Girls usually do.. This kind of reminds me of that Pokemon episode, "Tentacool and Tentacruel," and yes, I will review that one at some point, also, it reminds me of the Dexter's Laboratory episode, "Last But Not Beast," where Dexter and his family use a giant battle robot to stop Badaxtra, the evil giant monster from Japan, but the major difference here is that in "Last But Not Beast," there was no cheering crowd when the monster was defeated, but here, there was. So, if I had to choose between those two episodes, I'd probably pick this one. The irony is that both Craig McCracken and Genndy Tartakovsky who worked on "Last But Not Beast," directed this episode, like all of the other episodes that Don Shank storyboarded.

The final verdict, it's an awesome episode, and it really helped put the first season to the end and gear everyone up for the second season that would air a month later in 1999. It's exciting, full of action and danger, it's funny, has great visuals, and has fun with a monster battle! If you haven't seen or heard of this, please, at least check this one episode out, it really is worth your time. But, I'll bet you to watch Dog the Mighty first before this one.

The Powerpuff Girls - "Boogie Frights"

If you've just watched Shadow Streak's recent reviews of the reboot's episodes "Professor Proofed" and "Somewhere Over the Swingset," it's a sure sign that the original series is SO much better, and you should stay away from the reboot and wait until it's canceled. Today, I'm reviewing the 5th episode of the series, "Boogie Frights." In this episode, The Boogie Man, a disco dancing monster, plans to block out the sun so that he and his monster colleagues can dance and party all night long! So, it's up to the girls to stop him and destroy the giant disco ball in space.

Even though Bubbles is the main focus of the episode, the star of the episode is none other than Buttercup! She got a lot of spotlight in the episode, explaining about loving the nightlife, and even teasing her sisters about the Boogie Man thus scaring Bubbles. The episode also has a great moral, face your fears head-on. The title of the episode is based off of Boogie Nights which is not for kids. But as you know, they sometimes make jokes that aren't for kids. As for Buttercup's character, E.G. Daily sounded like she was just having so much fun! She's adorable, how could you not be scared by it. This made me realize the original series was a much better comedy. And I give Tara Strong some credit for making Bubbles sound so scared she couldn't even fall asleep until the Professor helps the girls with their problems.

This episode is a heck of a lot of fun, check it out for yourself if you haven't seen it. You can even enjoy it...............AFTER DARK!
